Cat portraits shouldn't be so hard.

Sculpting portraits from the side simplifies so much!
Experienced cat portrait felters will find the SWiFT way allows for fast accuracy.
For newer sculptor/felters, I suggest creating the first portrait using the reference images only and save sculpting a specific cat for your second project. This first portrait can be simple and cute or you can go all out for realism.

The Project Sheet Includes:

• A default pattern laid out for economical printing
• A second pattern that can be scaled up to 150% (roughly life size)
• Templates for eye lids, nose, and ears
• Tips and sculpting advice

Wool Needed:

You'll need .5 to .7 oz of core wool and a one piece of acrylic sheet felt to make the default profile pattern.

What about coloring?

As with all SWiFT Project Sheets (except the penguin), you're on your own for coloring. This cat portrait can be colored to represent many common cat breeds, but it isn't good for breeds with upturned noses such as Persians or hairless breeds like a Sphynx.

SWiFT isn't difficult, it's just different. To make it easier to create this project, your purchase includes two free downloads.

The first is the SWiFT Handbook. It contains the complete SWiFT process and instruction on creating thin legs using the new SWiFrame process.

The second is the Penguin Tutorial Project Sheet. This project is highly recommended for anyone new to needle felting. It is a complete step-by-step tutorial that includes a real-time YouTube video. You will learn the basics of SWiFT while creating a realistic penguin.
