With limited colors and a cute pose, this kitten is the cat's meow! 
This project is beginner friendly, but prior sculpting experience will be helpful. If you’re an experienced felter, you’ll enjoy with this one. The default kitten measures about 2.5” x 3” . 
If you want a bigger kitty, a pattern suitable for enlarging up to 250% is included.

This is a bas relief sculpture.
Bas relief or 2.5D is a popular woodcarving style. Designed to be viewed only from the front, the depth of the sculpture is just enough to show the separation of shapes. I've adapted the style to work for needle felting. You get the fun of sculpting, but with proper proportions baked in, and no wires.

SWiFT Bas Relief Projects provide everything you need to create the base sculpture. Coloring guides that use a limited color pallet are also provided, but you are free to color it however you wish.

Wool Needed:

You'll need .24 oz (9 grams) of core wool, .019 oz (.5 grams) or black and pink wool, .040 oz (1 gram) of eye color wool. Optional: .019 oz (.5 grams) of pure white roving and trace amounts of darker pink, brown, and gray for shading.

What about coloring?

This project (and all BRP projects) includes instruction for coloring the project with limited colors. You are of course able to color it to meet your vision.
