The body of this Dachshund felts quickly with only two stacks. The additional width comes from the legs.
The thin legs were designed from the ground up for SWiFrame, You'll get good looking legs without too much fuss.
This dog can be sculpted to look like an AKC champion, as an aged bowlegged, chunky pet, and everything in between.

Beginning Felters

This project assumes you’ve completed the two starter projects included in the handbook.
This is a good project to start on if you're new to creating a full-body sculpture. An accurate profile and SWiFrame legs will produce a recognizable sculpture.

Experienced SWiFTers

The stacking, blending, and sculpting are pretty straightforward, but I suggest you at least look through the Project Sheet and review the pictures and any bold or red text. 

What about coloring?

The SWiFrame legs and tail are thin and need to be sculpted directly in color top-coat wool. For the body, you can use core or color wool. As with all SWiFT templates (except the Penguin Tutorial), you're on your own for coloring.

Learning SWiFT

SWiFT isn't difficult, it's just different. To make it easier  to create this project, your purchase includes two free downloads. The first is the SWiFT Handbook. It contains the complete SWiFT process and instruction on creating thin legs using the new SWiFrame process.

The second is the Penguin Tutorial Project Sheet. This project is highly recommended for anyone new to needle felting. It is a complete step-by-step tutorial that includes a real-time YouTube video. You will learn the basics of SWiFT while creating a realistic penguin.
