Go simple, go fancy, have fun.

Carousel horses are so fun. This profile pattern may look complex but it isn't. The saddle and harness cover much of the horse so an accurate profile is your main goal.

The legs are done separately using the SWiFrame method. You can choose to do the hooves in wool or clay.

The saddle and other harness can be done using the profile pattern provided or customized however you like.

The mane and tail can be sculpted solid to resemble the woodcarving of a traditional carousel horse. Or, you can make it free-flowing using loose wool roving.

What's included:

The profile pattern in two printing options.

• The default size uses about .7oz of core wool and is laid out for efficient printing. 
• A second profile pattern for resizing. It can be resized up to 150% and still print on US letter size paper.
  

Saddle/harness design patterns

• A detailed pattern that allows you to match the design in the reference photo.
• A blank outline of the horse so you can design your own layout.

You'll need about .7 oz of core wool and a single sheet of acrylic sheet felt

What about coloring?
As with all SWiFT templates, you're on your own for coloring. A carousel horse is a good way to use up leftover bits of bright colors. This project is great for creating the "likeness" of a specific horse! You can get the essence of the real horse without needing to match body shape details.
