Getting Started

This project is a bit different. Instead of creating two profiles, you’ll build the shell top and then the bottom, and then the flippers. I think you’ll enjoy this one.

Beginning Felters
You may want to complete the included Penguin tutorial first.
A cute turtle is easy to make. All you need is to get the base shapes down and simplify the colors. This turtle nearly builds itself!

Experienced SWiFTers
This profile offers many detail and realism options. You can spend a month with a small needle and a magnifying glass recreating every bump, and scallop or, simply create your own turtle interpretation. 

The profile pattern is designed for realism with full length, correct flippers. Extra profile images will help you sculpt correctly. You can create a good base turtle with just the resources provided here.

SWiFT isn't difficult, it's just different. To make it easier to create this project, your purchase includes two free downloads. The first is the SWiFT Handbook. It contains the complete SWiFT process and instruction on creating thin legs (flippers) using SWiFrame.
